Evaluation for Exercise 1.
1. Prior to this activity, how would you rank yourself in knowledge about the topic. (1-No Knowledge at all, 2-Very Little Knowledge, 3-Some knowledge, 4-A good amount of knowledge, 5-I knew all about this)
3
2. Following this activity, how would you rate the amount of knowledge you have on the topic (1- I don’t really know enough to talk about the topic, 2- I know enough to explain what I did, 3-I know enough to repeat what I did, 4-I know enough to teach someone else, 5- I am an expert)
3-3.5 I could maybe fumble through it with someone else, maybe.
3. Did the hands-on approach to this activity add to how much you were able to learn (1-Strongly Disagree, 2-Disagree, 30-No real opinion, 4-Agree, 5-Strongly Agree)
5
4. What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?
I would say do it inside, but I guess the point was that it was in the field. Not much to add.
Evaluation for Exercise 2.
1. Prior to this activity, how would you rank yourself in knowledge about the topic. (1-No Knowledge at atll, 2-Very Little Knowledge, 3-Some knowledge, 4-A good amount of knowledge, 5-I knew all about this)

4. What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?
I don't like to leave these blank, but I have no better ideas. I guess a lot of the learning was from it not being a super structured activity. We were forced to learn and improvise.

3.5 Enough to teach how, but probably not as much the why.

What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?
I felt like creating the demo clip with camtasia, as shitty as mine is, was very useful in making me go over the process enough times that I could walk back into the lab and do 95% of the steps from memory. I don't get the same thing from writing things out, but both are good to do.

What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?
The test run method worked pretty well, at least for me. It got us trying things out that we were not as sure of, but that is a great way to learn and remember.

What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?
I heard complaints that 100 points was too many. I thought it was fine, we were only out for about 1.5hrs. How are people going to handle doing that for days if they can't get 100 with tiring?
I liked the teaching the next group method that we just used for the topo survey, I guess we'll see how effective it was. The emphasis on note taking was good, but the azimuth survey was less technology focused, so that may not help.
ArcPad Data Collection Part 2

What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?
I think doing like the current exercise will prove effective; having groups gather data on their own outside of class. It was hard to rush through it and still get all the data, especially waiting for the possible temperature difference to show. Other than that, more time would equal more points.
